AI Search Fan-out
AI search does not answer only the question that your buyer types. It splits that question into many smaller searches, and it cites the pages that answer them. This tool shows those searches for your topic, and the ones that your page does not answer.

The problem
Why do good pages lose leads in AI search?
Your buyers ask AI tools for a short list. The AI answer cites only a few pages. If your page does not answer the follow-up questions, another page gets the citation, and the lead goes with it.
1 → many
Google says that AI Overviews and AI Mode may run many related searches across subtopics to build one answer. Google calls this method query fan-out.
Google Search Central, AI features and your website, updated December 10, 2025.
−18.8 pts
In a 7-day field test, AI Mode cut clicks to other websites by 18.8 percentage points. Fewer buyers click through, so the answer itself must name you.

About 4
At the end of August 2026, Google AI Mode cited about 4 sources for each answer. In the summer, it cited about 16.

AI visibility is the fastest first step to more leads from AI search. Make each page easy for AI tools to find, read and quote. AI Query Fan-out shows what to add to each page.
How does AI Query Fan-out work?
Four steps. The first result takes about one minute.
-
Enter a topic
Type a topic that your buyers search for. We pull live search suggestions from Google, with Bing as a backup. An AI model groups them into aspects and adds the sub-queries that AI answers often need.
-
Read the results
See every sub-query on a round chart, in aspect cards or in a table. Filter by type, such as comparison or situational, and by source.
-
Check your page
Enter the address of your page. Jev, a judgment model, checks if each section answers each sub-query. You get a coverage score, the missing words and a card for each gap, under the section where the answer belongs.
-
Compare with competitors
Check up to three pages against the same sub-queries. See which page covers each aspect best, and where you can win the citation.
What makes the results useful?
Each result tells you where it came from and what to do next.
Each sub-query shows its source
A search suggestion shows its rank. An AI-inferred sub-query shows as an open dot. You always know which data is real and which data is an estimate.
Answers are judged, not only matched
Word matching misses an answer that uses other words. Jev reads the section and gives a probability. Word matching is the backup when Jev is not available.
Gap cards show what to add and where
Each missing sub-query gets a card under the closest section of your page. The card gives the heading level and the words to include.
An ideal outline in answer-first format
Turn the sub-queries into H2 and H3 headings, in the order of what people search most. Copy the outline as Markdown for your writer.
A warning for pages that hide text
Many AI crawlers do not run JavaScript. If your page sends little text in its HTML, the tool tells you, because AI tools see the same short page.
Exports for your team
Download every sub-query as a CSV file, with its aspect, type, source and page status.
The results are an estimate. No outside tool can see the exact searches inside an AI engine. Use the results to find the gaps in your pages. Then measure your AI citations to see if the changes work.

AI Query Fan-out FAQ
Short answers about the tool, the data and access.
What is query fan-out?
Query fan-out is how AI search answers one question. The AI tool splits the question into many smaller searches, runs them, and builds one answer from the results. Google says that AI Overviews and AI Mode may use this method.
What does AI Query Fan-out show?
It shows the likely sub-queries for a topic, in groups called aspects. It shows which sub-queries your page answers, which it answers in part and which it does not answer. It also shows the words and headings to add.
Where do the sub-queries come from?
Most come from live search suggestions for your topic, from Google with Bing as a backup. An AI model groups them and adds sub-queries that AI answers often need. Each sub-query shows its source: a search suggestion or AI-inferred.
Does the tool show the exact searches that ChatGPT or Google run?
No. No outside tool can see the searches inside an AI engine. The results are an estimate for research. Use them to find gaps in your pages. Then measure your AI citations to see the result.
How does the tool decide if my page answers a sub-query?
Jev, a judgment model from TypeSafe, reads the parts of your page that match each sub-query. It gives the probability that the page answers the sub-query. 70% or more is covered. 30% or less is missing. A value between the two is partial.
